New Music // Bat For Lashes

Natasha Khan, aka Bat For Lashes, is a British-born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who's just about to release her 3rd LP, The Haunted Man.

Her first album, Fur and Gold, was a confident debut of a distinct persona and voice; mystical, powerful, and feminine.

Two Suns, her second album, did what most next steps do, it improved and built upon its predecessor. Bigger production and bigger ambitions resulted in an excellent album showing a true talent emerging in her own right.

And now with her 3rd album, according to Natasha, she's attempted to strip everything down to their most basic elements, removing all artifice and focusing on raw voice, music, and image. You can see that theme immediately in the cover art for the album. Gone are the elaborate adornments of the past, all that is left is the naked woman, carrying the naked man.

Below are a few early tracks released from the upcoming album. So far, it's sounding to be another confident step for this tremendously talented young artist who seems to be carving a path not unlike the careers of great artists like Björk, Tori Amos, and Karin Dreijer Andersson.
